Bob was born on January 14, 1934, in Pontiac, son of the late Wesley J. & Marie W. (nee Gray) Wood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ardith (nee Payne); Children Steven Wood, Michael (Susan) Wood, Marsha (Robert) Adair, and Karen (Michael) Marton; grandchildren Daniel Wood, Andrew Wood, Alexis Adair, and Nicholas Wood; and one sister, Ellen English.
Bob was in Funeral Service for over 45 years, working at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Davis Funeral Home, and Wint Funeral Home. He was highly regarded by all as a kind and compassionate professional, and greatly respected. Following his retirement from funeral service, Bob worked with his wife Ardith at her business, Garden Gate Florist. He was the founding president of the Auburn Heights Jaycee’s and a longtime volunteer firefighter with Pontiac Township. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, 11 am at Pixley Funeral Home – John Desmond Chapel, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills. Rev. Jim Thompson officiating.
The Family will receive friends Friday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
