Mark Fleming, 62, of Saginaw, MI and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at home, with his Wolfpack near his side. Mark was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2018 and fought like hell to beat it, but he ultimately lost his battle.
Mark was a loving soul and was an extremely dedicated husband and father who led by example, showing many others what it meant to be a true family man. He was a free spirit and always had a plan to get what he wanted. He loved exploring the mountains of Utah, snorkeling the bright blue waters of Belize, hunting out west, scalloping in Homosassa, FL, playing loud music in his boat house on the river, African Safaris, and relaxing down in the Florida Keys. Every chance Mark had, he would go to his home in St. Petersburg, FL to spend time with the grandkids and play by his pool. Mark loved his deer camp and bringing his family and friends up there for hunting, laughs and awesome memories- with a countless amount of bucks being shot there. Opening Day was his favorite holiday!
Mark loved collecting random items whether it be arrowheads, old coins, rocks, license plates, knives, guns or books. Reading was definitely one of his greatest loves and you could always find him at the end of his bed with his little dog Lager, reading about history, shipwrecks, big game hunting, ghosts, biographies or anything that was non-fiction. He was also a lover of music and concerts, and played his music so loud we often had to yell just to communicate. Mark was successful at home, but was also successful with his business, Auto Brite Used Cars. He had the knack and knowledge to sell, and created his legacy. Sunday Funday was a favorite of his with cookouts with his friends, working in the yard and wrapping up the weekend with a Lions game.
Mark was preceded in death by his daughter and kindred spirit, Lauren Kathleen Fleming; along with his mother, Mary Lou Fleming. This year has been a hard one, but Mark kept our Wolfpack strong.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years who was his best friend, soulmate, right arm and other half, Kathy Fleming; his daughter, Brittney Taylor; his son, Parker (Tessa) Fleming; his grandkids, Peyton, Silas and Blaise; his father, Jim Fleming; his siblings, Jami Kidd and Mike Fleming; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 11am-12pm, with the service at 12pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
