Richard Harrison passed away peacefully at his home in Auburn on April 6, 2014. He was born in Long Beach, CA on 10/14/1932 and lived in Southern California but grew up primarily in Daly City with mother Hazel Watters Harrison and father Ret. Cmdr of the U.S Navy John Marcus Harrison. Richard had traveled to many foreign places as a child. Richard graduated from Jefferson High School in Daly City. Veteran of the U.S Navy, he served on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsage during the Korean conflict, prior to becoming a Police Officer for the city of San Mateo for 22 years and retiring in 1984, Richard had many jobs in California. He was a member of the Peninsula Peace Officers; a former member of the Lake of the Pines Men’s Golf Club and the Roamin Angels Car Club in Grass Valley. Richard was happily married to his wife Mary Mellor Harrison for over 34 years. Predeceased by his son 1st Sgt John A. Harrison and is survived by his daughter-in-law; Tonya and their children Candice Learned of Arnold, CA and Tristan Harrison from Clarksville, TN; Pam Hartmann, Chris (spouse); Chris , Heather and Eric of Brush Prairie, WA. Matt Harrison of Auburn, CA and daughter Molli Reading of Vancouver, WA. Vicki Harrison Bower, Spouse Brent; Hailey Iveson and Kyle Iveson of Sandy, OR. Richard is survived by his great grandchildren Eli Harrison and Piper Learned and extended family; Jessica Myers, Nick Zent and Ross Learned. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
