Pamela Kay Waters Hayes, (71) born, September 6, 1951 of Attalla, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2023 due to an extended illness of Leukemia & Lymphoma Cancer. She fought a good fight because she said she had some living to do. Pamela is the daughter of Clifton Ross Waters & Lila Grace Abney Waters. She is the eldest child of the Waters six children. She was living with her sister, Debbie Roberts at the time of her passing in Statesboro, Georgia, where she was well cared for and loved up to her time of passing.
Pam was a 1970 graduate of Etowah High School. After graduation she married her first husband, Donald Rollon Wright. They have one daughter together, Jennifer Dawn Wright Mccoy. They divorced after 13 years of marriage & Pam stayed single for many years raising her daughter, Jennifer as a single mother. She finally met the love of her life Jimmy Darrell Hayes, they were married and between the two of them they share three children together, Rodney Hayes, Jennifer McCoy, Misty Hayes. Pam loved Jimmy's children as her own & Jimmy loved Pam's daughter as his own & they made a wonderful life together.
Pam adored her grandchildren, Zachary Hayes, Trey McCoy, Alaina Ashley, Emily Hayes Jackson, Olivia Hayes. Pam kept her grandchildren, Zachary, Trey & Alaina most of time during their raising. Pam & Jimmy decided to adopt their grandson, Zachary giving him the last name of Hayes.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Ross Waters & Lila Grace Abney Waters, her husband, Jimmy Darrell Hayes, sister, Cheryl Ann Waters, brother Craig Rodney Waters. The family she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer McCoy (Johnny), son, Zachary Hayes, (Chelsea), Son, Rodney Hayes (Jenny), daughter, Misty Ashley. Her grandchildren, Trey McCoy, Alaina Ashley, Emily Hayes Jackson, Olivia Hayes. Her great grandchildren, Waylon Laney Hayes, Stormie Hayes, Tristan Hayes and one great grandchild on the way, Nathaniel McCoy, her brother, Ross (Erika) Waters, Sister, Debbie (Ricky) Roberts, sister, Tammie Waters Walden, brother, Michael Waters, sister in law, Diane (Frank) Harcrow and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews that totally adored her.
Rodney Hayes, Jennifer McCoy, Misty Hayes. Pam loved Jimmy's children as her own & Jimmy loved Pam's daughter as his own & they made a wonderful life together.
Pam was a child of God. Many years ago she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord. She lived her life always smiling and happy no matter what life has thrown her way. At the age of 16 she had a brain aneurysm to rupture and nearly died. She stayed in UAB Hospital in Birmingham 11 months where they gave her a 50/50 chance of living. Pam has always made the best of her life overcoming many obstacles. She's worked her fingers to the bone cleaning other peoples houses & doing what ever she needed to do to care for her family. She has brought such happiness to us all. Pam always said if she could pass on any advice to others it would be to love God and to accept Jesus Christ into your life, be kind to others because you never know what someone may be struggling with and to always have a forgiving heart. Pam will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jimmy at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
