Funeral Services for Ms. Mary Yancey Rodriguez, age 77 of Rainbow City, will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Dr. Bill King, Rev. Cade Farris and Jill Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Mary Yancey Rodrigues passed away October 2, 2022 in Wedowee, AL.
Mary was born September 3, 1945, to the late Willard Hobson and Mae Belle Yancey. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Willard Yancey and sister, Martha Yancey Morton.
Mary is survived by her daughter Robin (Mark) Prestridge, grandchildren John Mark and Emma Katherine Prestridge, sister, Brenda Yancey Mathis, sister-in-law, Dorothy Yancey, nieces, Marsha Morton and Jill Yancey Wiggins, special double first cousins from the Roebuck/Yancey families.
Mary was a 1963 graduate of Etowah High school. Mary loved her Alma Mater and rooted each Friday night for her Blue Devils.
Mary retired from Goodyear with 31 ½ years of service. She was dedicated to her job and enjoyed the friendships she made throughout the years.
Mary Rod lived life to the fullest. She learned to work hard as a child from her mother. Many days of picking cotton, gathering eggs, to relaxing days on Big Wills Creek.
Mary was the biggest Alabama fan. One of her many accomplishments was she got to talk to “The Bear” on the phone. She traveled to Los Angles to see the Tide in 2000. Mary never went anywhere without an Alabama shirt on. She truly loved Bama.
Many thanks to Compassus Hospice of Roanoke who treated mom like their own. Special thanks to her two caregivers, Ruby Harmon and Brenda Parker.

Pallbearers will be John Mark Prestridge, Mark Prestridge, Randy Burns, Danny Guest, Ben Guest, Jerry Nicholson, Harry Foster and Ricky Bearden.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Goodyear friends and family, and White Springs Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.
