Funeral services for James Morris “Jimmy” Pierce, Jr. age 50 of Rainbow City, who passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Joshua Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Jimmy loved his family and friends. He loved to make people smile and his smile was contagious. He was raised in Etowah County, Alabama. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1989 and later sought a degree at Gadsden State Community College. He grew up with an intense passion for the outdoors, whether it be baseball, hunting or fishing. He grew into a man serving this country in the Navy and earned his rank of MR3. Jimmy was an avid Alabama fan. He enjoyed corn hole and his dart league. He thought he was a “rock star” and sang ALL THE TIME!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Williams Pierce and grandparents: JB and Mildred Pierce and Walter and Louise Williams.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Rhiley Pierce and Lexie Pierce; father, JM Pierce; sisters: Jennifer Jones and Jessica Morris; brother-in-law, E.O. Jones; granddaughter, Wrenley Brasher, nieces: Sydney Ransom and Shelby Morris; nephews: Grayson Morris, Garrison Morris and Joshua Jones; the mother of his children, Natalie Guthrie and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Jones, Nick Kopsolias, Clint Chestnut, Damon White, Doug Hill and Mickey Hill. Honorary Pallbearers are E.O. Jones and Roudy Jones.
Special thanks to the Rainbow City EMS and Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m.
