James Bohannon, age 89 of Southside, passed away Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at home. He is now with Jesus and reunited with his loving wife, Hazel. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel. His son, Terry Bohannon, will officiate.
James was a man of great integrity, a loving husband, devoted Dad, and proud Papa. He was married for 68 years to his “sweet little lady” whom he loved with all his heart. They were inseparable and a beautiful example of what a godly marriage should be. James loved music, especially Southern Gospel and he enjoyed playing guitar. He served as a guitarist in various churches throughout his lifetime. James retired from Gulf States Steel in 1997 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, carpentry, restoring old cars and eating at various restaurants. He loved watching western television shows and laughing at cartoons. He will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Bohannon; daughter, Pam Estes; son-in-law, Danny Gaskey; great grandson, Jackson Pace; father, Alfred Curtis Bohannon; mother, Ruby Bohannon; brother, William L. Bohannon; sister, Shelby Hales; and niece, Regina Reed.

Also, thanks to Kristy. A special thanks also to James’ home church, Gadsden Christian Fellowship for their prayers and expressions of love during his illness.
