Dana Jo (Chesnut) Stephens, age 58, passed away on August 23, 2022 after her courageous battle with Covid and pneumonia. Dana was born on September 17, 1963 in Gadsden, Alabama to parents Dana Gail Chesnut and Joseph Lafayette Chesnut. She graduated from Etowah High School and attended Gadsden State Community College. Dana was blissfully married to her high school sweet heart Donald Scott Stephens, who was her partner in life for 36 years at the time of her death on the day of their anniversary. Dana attended Church Of The Highlands, and loved Jesus with all her heart.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Dana had a passion for shopping, decorating, and traveling when she could. Dana had a giving heart and caring personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Dana loved being outside with her husband doing yard work. Dana lived comfortably with her husband in their cozy home in Walnut Grove, AL. Dana had lots of love to give to her kids. Dana had a son, daughter and son-in-law. She loved them very much, she always had a hot meal and open arms. Dana had a granddaughter who called her Nay Nay, who she loved very much. Dana had four siblings and in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She is missed terribly and she will never, even for one day, be forgotten.
Dana is survived by her husband Donald Scott Stephens, 2 children, Benjamin Scott Stephens and Amanda Danielle Marshall, son-in-law, Preston Marshall, and 1 grandchild, Skylar Grace Marshall, her parents Joe and Gail Chesnut, siblings Jana Fuqua, Mary Schumann, Chris Chesnut, and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Jody Chesnut.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Thursday August 25, 2022 from 10 am until 11 am, with a celebration service following at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
