Bonnie Gray Hancock, 89, passed away October 24, 2022 at Legacy Village of Jacksonville (The Harbor).
Momma was born in Oneonta, AL on February 22, 1933 to Oscar and Minnie Chastain Gray. She was raised in Attalla, AL. Momma was a military spouse and lived in many places, Hinesville, GA, Savannah, GA, Atlanta, GA, Lawton, OK, Kentucky, Virginia and Germany. After retirement, they settled in Hinesville, GA, and started their own business, Hancock Electrical, Heating & Air. After they decided to retire for a second time, they moved to Lake Sinclair, Sparta, GA, where they lived until Daddy passed away. Momma then moved to Springfield, GA where she lived until 2017. Due to health conditions, she then moved back to Alabama and lived at Regency Pointe in Rainbow City, AL until moving to Legacy Village in Jacksonville in 2021.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hancock, her sisters: Maurine Sims, Frances Clampett, Helen Victory, Juanita Page and Vinita Stanfield, and her brothers: Oscar (Jr.) Gray, Charles and Kenneth Gray.
She is survived by her daughter, Felicia Boomer Free, son-in-law, Phillip Free, her granddaughter, Joy Free Andrews, great-granddaughter, Madison Andrews, and brother, Dean Johnson and sister-in-law, Debbie Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
Graveside Service and Burial will be in Hinesville, Georgia, at Oglethorpe Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses/caregivers at Regency Pointe and Legacy Village of Jacksonville, especially Jessie and Brenda.
