Virginia Howell Burns, 80, passed away February 1, 2013 while in hospice care following an accident. Virginia a native Atlantan, was the elder daughter of the late William Wall Burns and Mildred King Burns. After graduating from Henry Grady High School in 1950, she attended the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia. Virginia was employed for many years by Swissair and as a result was able to travel extensively and visit many places in the world. Virginia, a gourmet cook, was greatly appreciated by her many friends for her sumptuous dinners. She will also be remembered for the many exquisite works in needlepoint that she produced. She was a member of Rock Spring Presbyterian Church. Virginia, a lovely Southern lady, is survived by her sister Sue Burns and by her many, many friends by whom she will be greatly missed. A graveside service is planned for Monday, February 18, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
