I was attempting to send you birthday wishes today, when I learned that you were gone. My heart aches. I love you so much Kent. You taught me to love. We will always have Germany. 

I worked with this honorable Soldier in Germany. I was his senior officer in Preventive Medicine. He was  such a motivated and and accomplished young man. This was over 20 years ago. I will always remember him as an accomplished person and knew he would go far in his career. I was honored to work with him.

Very embarrassing.  Fixing my error. My apologies.I can just imagine how funny COL Broussard would have found my huge mistake.  

As everyone has stated, COL Broussard was an incredibly special person. He was an amazing leader and coworker. He is very missed.

Words cannot and will not properly express the feeling of loss with Kent’s passing.   However, with bereavement comes a realization and insight into the nature and meaning of the impact that person had on the lives of others.  In the case of Kent – his legacy will live on – through his stellar military service, mentorship he provided, and his family.
  
Kent was a friend, colleague, mentor, and fraternity brother - but what I’ll always remember is Kent the dad. Always the doting father of his children’s accomplishments, he played a vital role and was a great presence in their lives that assisted and guided them to where they are today.  That could be said for the plethora of lives Kent touched during his short but impactful time with us.
 
There was never a person that Kent met that he would not try to help or mentor.  I followed Kent in his last military assignment and even with his daily physical battles, he availed himself to me for over a month of overlap – almost unheard of for those of us in the military.  Kent did that to ensure I and the Army Secretariat was set up for success.   That was the kind of man, officer and Soldier Kent was and that will be his legacy…… humble, servant leadership.  

You will be missed, rest in peace. 
 
To the Broussard family – please take solace in knowing that Kent is smiling down, free of pain and his light was so great, it remains illuminated.

I worked with Kent at CHPPM-South in Atlanta years ago.  Kent was an exceptional officer and gentleman.  He had a fantastic smile and a way of making everyone feel welcome.  I remember years later we were at a big conference with all of peers and Ken was working hard to get us all together to catch up and share the good things in our lives that had occurred after everyone had moved around with their various changes of duty stations. He cared about people.  He definitely worked tirelessly to make the Army a better, safer place for all.  I send my deepest sympathy to you all.

I know you're still watching over your family and one day, you will all be reunited.  I pray that God provides them the tranquility, peace, and understanding as they progress through this difficult trial of life.  No more pain, Brother.  A seat at the table. Save a spot for me. 

You and I often joked about my stubbornness! If you had not pulled rank on me in 2017, I would have died. You saved my life and it's difficult for me to process this right now! My family and I will never forget you.  Selfless, inspirational, impact leader!! Humble, stoic, and always listened to every person, regardless of rank or position. Best leader I have seen in 35 years of military service. I will miss you, my friend.  De Oppresso Liber, Hermano!

My deepest sympathy to Kent's family. I had the privilege of working with him in Germany in the 80's. He was such a sharp, intelligent and motivated Specialist in Preventive Medicine. I am not surprised he went on to achieve all that he did in the military.

Thanks so much for your support and Service at ODASA-ESOH, COL Broussard.  I'll always remember you (Kent) as smiling and with such a positive attitude, which rubbed off on me and everyone else around you.

There is a saying (from which author, I do not know) but it goes . . ,
"The only important things that you leave behind once you are gone, are the things that you give." 

COL Kent Broussard gave so many good and beautiful things in his life that will continue to last long until the memories of all of the families, friends, and coworkers whom he touched, also pass away.

After retiring from the military, I was fortunate enough to get a job as a senior consultant providing OH & OM support for the Army.  I was fortunate to work with COL Broussard.

I vividly and fondly remember COL Broussard and the chats and stories that we shared. 
He was an outstanding officer, a tremendous leader, and always kind and personable.
He possessed a tremendous sense of duty and service to our Army and country.
He had a million-dollar smile and always witty with great knowledge and insights about football, whether high school, college, or the NFL.

A devoted and loving husband and father, he was so very proud of his intelligent, personable, and successful son and daughter.

One of my fondest memories of him are the numerous times after a teleconference or meeting, during which I would chide him to not be so humble and self-deprecating.  Near the end of a meeting, he would very graciously thank all the participants for taking time from their busy schedules and for all their good work in support of Soldiers, their families and Army civilians.  He would add that he was very fortunate to be working with all of us.  Please note that if you looked at his CV or military bio, you would find that Kent was very well educated, trained, and had highly successful and broad-ranging commands/assignments in the Army.

He will be greatly missed, but I feel very fortunate to have met him, worked with him and celebrated life and sports with him.

To Kent’s Family,

It is with heavy heart that I write this note. I know that no words can ease the pain of the loss of the man that you loved as a son, husband, father, uncle, or friend. 

Kent followed me into many assignments over his military career.  I am not sure if he would have said that was a good thing or a curse. I do know that he was a great officer and leader and that the Army was, and is, a better institution due to his dedication. 

I will miss his laugh and his humor. The world has lost a very kind soul.
