June Sturman Moore, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away October 1, 2010 at Hospice Atlanta. June was born on February 27, 1924 in Atlanta to the late Brian and Ruth Sturman. She grew up in Atlanta, graduating from Girls High and Newberry College of SC. She was a proud WWII veteran serving as a Navy WAVE. She was married for over 52 years to her late husband, Robert Winborne Moore. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of College Park. June will be remembered for her sweet disposition and wonderful sense of humor that was always a delight to her family and friends. She was a lifelong lover of animals and St. Simons Island where she vacationed for over 63 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brian (Sam) Sturman. She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn May, Jane Moore and Pattie (Steve) Kraus; son, Robert W. Moore, Jr.; granddaughters: Robyn May and Emily Kraus; many nieces and nephews and her beloved pets. Funeral services will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill on Tuesday, the fifth of October at eleven o’clock in the morning with Father Troy Beecham officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from six until eight o’clock at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Atlanta Humane Society, Noah’s Ark, The American Cancer Society, Hospice Atlanta or any charity of your choice.
