John and Thelma were two of my parents' best friends...a friendship that dated back to their college days. Over the years, our families had so many fun times together in St. Louis and Atlanta. My dad and John shared a love of boating...even teaching my sister and me how to water ski. John was such a caring and kind man, with a great sense of humor. Such wonderful memories. It is so comforting to know they are all together again.

John was a wonderful friend and neighbor. He was a very caring and good man. Larry and I will miss him and always remember him with love.  He loved people and took an interest in those around him.  I considered him to be the Mayor of Brooklawn. 

My family has such wonderful memories of stopping to see our dear friends in Atlanta. John and my youngest son making peach ice cream, all of us enjoying their beautiful backyard, and always leaving with tomatoes or other goodies from the garden or the kitchen after sharing memories and laughs. We will miss him so much but what a wonderful life well lived!

RIP, Uncle “Ed”. So glad we made the trip to Atlanta last year for his special birthday! Proud to call him my uncle. 🥰☘️

John was one of my mentors at Kearney Company and was my boss from 1961 until 1971 plus I worked with him from 1979 until 1988. He was a great boss and a great great friend.  He will be missed by so many.

John was a wonderful friend and neighbor who always kept in touch,  found time to help those around him and continuously 
"patrolled" Brooklawn on his motor cart checking on others. He was the Lord Major of Brooklawn. It was a privilege to know him.




He was my Dad’s best friend growing up. I already miss his phone calls. Always the gentleman. 🥰


I worked with John for a number of years at Kearney.  I believe John was the finest gentleman I have ever known.  I will miss him and our monthly phone conversations.
