John Peter Dillard

John Dillard, President and CEO of Dillard House, Inc. passed away on August 17, 2014. He was born in Fulton County, Georgia on September 27, 1944. John was preceded in death by his parents, Earl John Dillard and Lexie Rogers Dillard. Survivors include his wife, Louise S. Dillard; son, John E. Dillard; daughter, Natalie Dillard Cross; grandchildren, Maya Dillard, Connor Dillard, Dillard S. Cross, and Blaire Patricia Cross; and sister-in-law, Sally P. Smith. He was a member of the University of Georgia President’s Club, a past member of the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce, a city of Sky Valley Councilman, served on the Rabun County Hospital Board, the CVB Board, was a Past Director of the Rabun County Development Board, and was on the board of Paws for Life. He was a visionary who dedicated his life to the continuation of the Dillard House and the development of Rabun County. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the UGA Foundation, c/o the John Dillard Scholarship, 394 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, Georgia 30605. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
