Dr. Joann Noonan Connelly

Dr. Noonan Connelly Dr. Joann Noonan Connelly, Atlanta Podiatrist, passed away on June 24, 2015. Dr. Noonan Connelly was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 9, 1928 and spent her early years in Indiana where she attended both high school and college; she was a true Hoosier at heart. She subsequently graduated cum laude from the Illinois college of Podiatric Medicine in 1952. She and her late husband Dr. Raymond Noonan Sr. began their Podiatry practice in Atlanta and practiced for over 35 years. They enjoyed 50 years together until his passing in 2000. At age 78 she remarried an old Childhood friend Thomas Connelly and they enjoyed traveling back and forth from Atlanta to California where Tom’s family lives. Joann was full of goodness and life. As a loving and devoted wife and mother to her 6 children and a great “Nonnie” to her 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as a respected and accomplished Podiatrist, as a faithful friend, animal lover and as an avid tennis player, she enjoyed people and helping others. She and her family attended the first mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in 1958 where the Noonans have remained members. Joann is survived by her husband, Thomas Connelly, her Daughter, Carol Noonan Wilson and her husband, Tim; her sons and daughters-in- law, Dr Raymond Jr. and Deanna, John & Beverly, Michael, Thomas & Kim, and Christopher as well as 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at H.M.Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill 4550 Peachtree Rd.NE Atlanta, Ga. 30319 on Sunday June 28th from 6-8PM. A Rosary service will begin at 5:30PM for those who wish to attend. The funeral service is at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church on Monday, June 29th at 12:00 Noon. Followed by interment service at the North Atlanta Memorial Park, 5188 Winters Chapel Rd. Doraville, Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial remembrances to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic or the Atlanta Humane Society.
