Jane was born in Graniteville SC to William Eugene Darby SR and Mary Lois Couey on May 26, 1954. Jane attended Leavelle McCampbell High School in Graniteville SC. Jane and was an accomplished Ballerina and she danced with the Augusta Ballet Company for many years. Jane graduated from Winthrop College in May, 1977 with a double major in Distributive Education and Physical Education, with an emphasis on Dance.
Jane and Mark Edward Day were married on October 25, 1986 in Atlanta, GA at Peachtree Christian Church.
Jane worked as a teacher, and then as a pharmaceutical sales representative for McKesson for several years. Jane then went back to Court Reporting School and then worked as a Court Reporter for 10 years.
Jane was passionate about clothing, interior design, dance, ballet and all performing arts. Jane and her husband, Mark also lived in Asia for 8 years during which time Jane and Mark traveled extensively before returning back to the US in 2015.
Jane and Mark were also very active in their church, Peachtree Christian Church where Jane served as a Deacon for many years, and was also a Past President of the Wedding Guild.
Jane and Mark were members of Cherokee Town & Country Club where she so enjoyed their Sunday afternoon golf outings.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lois Couey, her father, William Eugene Darby SR, and her brothers, William Eugene Darby JR, Charles Edmund Platt JR, and William Clark Darby.
Jane is survived by her husband, Mark Edward Day, her sister, Junine Clark Darby DeGraf, and her brother, David Endon Platt, her niece, Addison Darby DeGraf and her nephews, Endon Stanley Platt and Gavin Abel Platt.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday December 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta GA. A reception will follow the service. Jane will be Inurned in the Columbarium at Peachtree Christian Church.
