Gregory Benton Thomas, 48, of Atlanta, passed away on July 2, 2015. Born November 5, 1966, Greg was a native Atlantan and an accomplished automotive mechanic. He was a lover of fast cars, all dogs and a good mystery novel. Generous to a fault, he was always one to help those in need, even when he himself was struggling. He made friends wherever he went and will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. He is preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Doris Pullen Thomas and the most faithful dog and his constant companion, Bubba. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 11:00 a.m. at Chamblee First United Methodist (CFUM). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, CFUM, for the assistance of those in need. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
