Dorothy M. Landon age 83 of Atlanta passed away peacefully on November 19 at her residence, The Fountainview Center, after a brief illness. Her final resting place will be next to her mother and father in Arlington Memorial Park. Dorothy was a long time member of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Library Circle and the Gene/Martha Wilson Sunday School Class. She was born to be a teacher. She earned a B.S. Degree at Georgia State Teachers College and an M.A. at Georgia Peabody College for Teachers. She was on the faculty at Reinhardt College and later was a teacher in the Atlanta Public School System for ten years. In 1975 she began a new career working in several positions at Georgia Power for twenty years, where she retired in 1995.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 3pm at Peachtree Presbyterian Church,( in the church parlor). In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Gene/Martha Wilson Sunday School Class, Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30305.
