Barb and Hawk were among our very closest friends while we were living in the Panama Canal Zone. We shared many sailing and jungle adventures as well as just "hanging out" together. Will and Myra, you were just tiny tots then...and so treasured. 
Barb was a gentle soul of many talents.

 Barbara was one of the bravest people I have ever known. She was a combination of artistic talent, passion for nature, and a can-do attitude. 
I don't know anybody who could have dealt with the health issues she did for as many years as she did with such ability and grace.   The planet has lost a great spirit.  Certainly, future generations of kids who go to the Chattahoochee nature center will be missing a passionate teacher.  Though small, she has some pretty big shoes to be filled.

My husband Pat and I spent many years exhibiting at the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain Park across the walkway from Jean McCormick's lap desk booth. Barb was part of that special crew of ladies who produced and sold these wonderful lap desks enjoyed by thousands of young (and older) people for years and years.  Elizabeth McAfee

I have so many memories of Barb, I grew up with her and then she was my teacher in H.S. She made biology and learning fun. I will never forget her. As I got older she became my friend, and I will miss her friendship and advice.

We miss our visits with Barb.  We stopped in Atlanta driving from N J to FL.  During those visits we enjoyed French cuisine, attended plays, toured museums and relived so many fun 'advenrures' we enjoyed while living in Panama.  Barb will always be remembered -  teaching together at BHS, sharing holiday meals, chaperoning Maje family trips & Maje Biological Honor Society trips, Senior Graduation Parties and so much more.  
Barb is a part of our family and always will be in our memories.   Deanna

Barbara was a friend, a playmate and a  and co-worker.  We have missed her during her illness, and miss her now.  Myra and Will, please know that our deepest sympathy is shared with you and her family.

Barbara was one of the strongest people I have ever known. She met every obstacle in her path with a can-do attitude that amazed us all.  We called her The Energizer Bunny because, in spite of major challenges to overcome, she was determined to continue doing the things she loved the most. She was a talented artist.    She was a kayaker, spelunker, hiker/camper and a dedicated environmentalist and naturalist. She was a teacher.  The children she taught learned to observe, appreciate and protect wildlife and the environment.  They surely will pass it along.  That will be her legacy.

Thank you for allowing Trumark the pleasure to care for Ms Barbara. She was an absolutely wonderful woman!

What a loss. I will always remember her as the kind woman she was.
