Alison Patricia Brister, 86, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 15th, 2018. The youngest of four children born to Dr. William T. Joss and Dr. Elizabeth S. Joss in Nottingham, England on August 16th, 1932, she lived a full life. While earning her degrees at Aberdeen University in Scotland, she met Graham Harrold Brister, the man who became her husband for more than 55 years until his death in 2011. They lived abroad in Kenya for eight years and ultimately settled in the United States. Alison managed the computer center at the University of Georgia College of Family and Consumer Sciences for many years until her retirement.
Known for her remarkable sense of style and her generous spirit, Alison was beloved by co-workers, friends and caretakers. Alison was devoted to and adored by her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Ben Wasscher of Orono, Minnesota; and her son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Suzy Brister of Atlanta, Georgia; and grandchildren, Alexandra, Marika and Maxwell Wasscher, and Mitchell and Morgan Brister.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 21st at H.M. Pattterson and Son at Oglethorpe Hill in Brookhaven. The family will have visitation immediately after the service. As a way to honor
