A native of Saginaw, Michigan he was the son of the late William and Ardath Terzia and was also preceded in death by daughters Wanda and Rebecca and grandchildren Lucas and Ashley Terzia.
He attended the University of Alabama on an athletic scholarship and met and married Yvonne Dyar.
Mr. Terzia served as an Army Airborne Paratrooper Jump Master and made over 100 jumps. He was employed by the John Sexton and Company for over 50 years as a salesman. He loved his gardens and was a master gardener. Mr. Terzia enjoyed his lake home at Lake Hartwell and enjoyed family and friends as he entertained there and was great in teaching others to water ski and enjoyed all sports and water skiing himself. He and his wife loved to travel and just enjoyed this country as well as overseas. Mr Terzia was a member and deacon at Beech Haven Baptist church for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Dyar Teriza, son Richard Terzia and wife Deborah, grandchildren Richard Lyman Terzia III, Nicholas Michael Terzia, John Ranson Terzia , great grandson Lyman Terzia and precious nieces and nephews who he loved very much.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, February 12th at Beech Haven Baptist Church with Rev. A. B. Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday at Bernstein.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Beech Haven Baptist Church, 2390 W. Broad Street, Athens, Georgia 30606.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Malcolm, Neil Murphy, Bill Bowen, David Tolbert, John Stephens and Darrell Clark.
