Originally from Farrell, Pa., he was the son of Martin and Agnes Bauer. He is predeceased by his wife, Beverly; an infant son, Martin; and his sister, Evelyn.
Martin was an engineer for Goodyear Aerospace in Akron, Ohio and subsequently was transferred to Cedartown, Ga., where he retired. He moved to Athens in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children: Walt (Carolyn), Tom (Denise), Laura and Craig (Kim). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal service.
The family requests no flowers and to give to the charity of your choice.
