A native of Athens, Mrs. Cheek was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Bailey and Nannie Alba Bradley Bailey and was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cheek Jr. She worked for Westclox for 30 years and Burton and Burton for 12 years.
Survivors include sons, Marty Casper of Winder and Michael Casper and wife, Lynn of Hull; brothers, Jimmy Lee Bailey of Carolina Beach, NC and Kenneth David Bailey of High Point, NC; sisters, Barbara Trollinger of Gainesville, FL, Gail Honeycutt of Trinity, NC, Anita Sipper and Carol Gray both of High Point, NC; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 10AM Saturday, July 23rd at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9-9:45AM Saturday prior to the service at Bernstein Funeral Home.
