A native of Hull, GA, Kenneth was the son of the late Warren "Buddy" Jones and Shirley Sue Sorrow Murphy. Kenneth is preceded in death by his grandparents Grover (Pauline) Jones, Sr., and BT (Kathleen) Sorrow.
At the age of 15 Kenneth moved to Gulf Breeze, FL where he attended Gulf Breeze High School. By 1980 his toes firmly rooted in the Sands of Pensacola Beach and brought love, laughter and kindness to everyone he met. A true outdoorsman, he loved to fish in Florida and to hunt in Georgia. Kenneth loved to share his stories about the Big Cobia or about bagging that Big Buck. Kenneth made his money working offshore as far as Mexico and as close as Pensacola Beach as a commercial Snapper fisherman. Kenneth was a proud owner of a World Record Lang Snapper fish in 1990. In recent years, Kenneth moved back to Georgia, but returned to the beach as much as possible.
Kenneth is survived by his half-brother, Randy (Becky) Jones; half-sister, Paige (Jimmy) McGreevy; nieces and nephews, Blake (Bekah) Jones, Samantha (Blake) Callahan, James Robert (Krista) McGreevy, Meghan (Brandon) Chambless; stepmother, Jeanette Jones; stepfather, Robert Murphy; great-nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; many beach and Georgia friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Moon's Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Terry Smith will officiate.
