A native of Atlanta, Mr. Griffin was a son of the late Herschel and Elizabeth Reeves Griffin. He served with the United States Army in Vietnam and was a retired auto salesman with Arrington Blount Ford. Mr. Griffin was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Survivors include wife, Donna Rhodes Griffin; children, Jerry Wayne Griffin, Jessica Griffin Slaton and Jack Thomas Griffin Jr.; brothers, Ted Griffin, Dan Griffin and Steve Griffin; sister, Linda Brown; grandchildren, Cody Griffin, Tripp Slaton and Owen Slaton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Smiley officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
