Icie Blair Stewart died at the age of 77 on March 24, 2023. Icie was born to Lester and Mae Blair on October 17, 1945, in Tiger, Georgia, graduated from Rabun County High School in 1963, and moved to Atlanta after high school to work for Sears.

Nelson joined the Air Force and the couple moved to Great Falls, Montana, where they later had their daughter, Tina. After Nelson’s service in the Air Force, the family moved back and settled in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Icie then began her 20+ year career with Southern Bell. The couple lived in Ormond Beach, Florida, during retirement and later moved to Simpsonville, South Carolina, to live near family.
Icie stayed true to her Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves throughout her life and always called herself a “Georgia Girl.” She loved to travel and visited 47 of the 50 states and took many trips to Europe with friends.
Icie is preceded in death by her husband, (Nelson Stewart); sister, (Ethel Sneed-Parish); and son-in-law, (John Newcomer). She leaves behind her daughter, Tina Newcomer; and grandchildren Blair (Phillip) Chandler and Blake (Kerri) Newcomer.
