A native of Phenix City, AL, Mr. McVey was a son of the late George Washington McVey Sr. and Ovin Wilson McVey. He retired from civil service at Fort Benning after 30 years. He loved motorcycles, guns, model trains, but loved nothing more than being a grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Haines McVey of Bogart; children, Georgia Nicole Tomlin of Bogart, Henry David McVey Jr. (Courtney) of Jefferson and James Croslin McVey (Molly) of Columbus; sister, JoAnne Dankel-Dobbs of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Shannon Tomlin, Dylan Tomlin, Carter McVey, Chloe McVey, Anna Cate McVey, Ella McVey; and great-grandchild, Storm Williams.
No services are planned at this time.
