Frances Gabriel Roberts age 93, died Friday, March 3, at her home in Athens. Mrs. Roberts, a native of Oglethorpe County, was the daughter of the late Raleigh W. and Nellie Tucker Gabriel. She was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Johnson and Mary Belle Williams; and brothers, Albert, Parks, Crawford, Talmadge, Loring and Paul Gabriel. She was retired from Magic Years of Learning Day Care. She enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Alfred Roberts; son, Weyman Roberts of Athens; and daughter, Susan Roberts of Athens; one brother, Ed Gabriel of Oakwood; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 7, at 2:00 pm, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Dibler and Rev. Lindell Hunsley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bernstein Funeral Home from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, prior to the funeral.
Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
