A native of Sliven, Bulgaria, Mrs Konfino was the daughter of Jacob Gozes and Miriam Menahem Gozes.
Fika was a graduate of the American College in Sofia, Bulgaria. She lived through and survived the Holocaust, and the subsequent Communist invasion of Bulgaria. In 1945 she married Anri Konfino, who survives her after 67 years of marriage. She emigrated with her husband and young child, David Konfino, to Israel where she witnessed the birth of that nation and lived there for the first 10 years of its existence. She and her family came to Elberton, Georgia in December 1959 where she has lived continuously. During this time she was employed as the Shipping Manager of Rilla Inc., a subsidiary of Elberton Manufacturing Company and retired at age 80 after 55 years of employment. Mrs Konfino was also a member of Congregation Children of Israel since early 1960's.
Survivors include her husband, Anri Konfino of Elberton Georgia; son, David Konfino and wife, Marilyn of Miami Florida; granddaughter, Arielle Konfino Cohen and husband, Jason Cohen of Dallas Texas; step-granddaughter, Tamara Shane of Miami Florida and step grandson, Daniel Benitez of New York, New York.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday, May 10th at Oconee Hill Cemetery with rabbis Linder and Gerson officiating.
