Billie is survived by her three children: Ralph and Peggy Harris, Jim Bob and Ann Harris, and Paula Harris; along with four grandchildren: Ashley Carol, Kathleen, Truett, Katherine; and two great-grandchildren: Olivia and Cora.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents: Havis Herbert and Ada Pauline Bearden; her grandson, Brian Eli Harris; and her husband, Clyde Eli Harris Jr., with whom she celebrated over 70 years of marriage.
Billie's #1 priority was her family and supporting all of their activities over the many years. How she loved the summer trips to Lake Burton and the fresh mountain air while planning and preparing every meal for those get togethers. She was active with her friends in Roadrunners Travel. She enjoyed walking and playing bridge with them at Athens Country Club and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church.
Brum and Pappy—as they were nicknamed by the family and known by all their friends—provided many examples of "A Life Well Lived" and Brum in particular showed how to be a great Wife, Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and a Classy Lady to all.
Our family would also like to recognize her faithful caregiver and close friend for the last four years, Matilde Gutierrez. She is a Godsend.
All of our family will be together to celebrate Brum's life at Thanksgiving and a private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to Athens First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
