A native of Madison County, Mr. Kesler was the son of the late Roy Lee and Emily Lurlene Griffeth Kesler. He served in the US Navy during WW II, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Athens. His career included owning a men's clothing store as well as working for other local retail men's clothiers in Athens, Atlanta, and Macon.
Survivors include a son Dan Kesler and daughter-in-law, Sue of Athens; brother Wendell Kesler of Columbus, sister Deanie Cunningham of Athens, Janelle Vickery of Winder, and Jane Bramlett of Commerce.
Graveside services will be 11am Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Chuck Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at Bernstein on Friday, December 30, from 5-7 pm.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Athens, 327 Lumpkin Street, Athens, Georgia 30501.
