John Worley

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 11-12:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Worley passed away Monday May 30, 2016 at Athens Rehab and Senior Care.

He was born November 20, 1922, in Obion, TN to D.P. and Willie Worley. He was a World War II veteran and ran a concrete business in Memphis, TN until he retired. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, an avid golfer, and a member of Canebrake Club. He was a beloved father, stepfather, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Zola Worley; and sister Lorraine Ledbetter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Peggy Worley, one son John D. Worley, Jr., one stepson Robert Whitehead, one stepdaughter Leslie Christopher, and one brother Carl Worley, ten grandchildren Katie Hunter, Courtney Tucker, Hunter Worley, Kate Webb, Mary Glenn Christopher, Teresa Whitehead, Ivan Whitehead, Kyle Rice, Elizabeth Rice, Katherine Rice, and 7 great-grandchildren.
