Joel McAlister Smith

Joel McAlister Smith age 28 born on January 23, 1984 in New Orleans, LA. Joel was tragically killed in a one car accident on November 24, 2012. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnny McAlister, grandfather Alvin Smith, and grandmother Redie Smith.

He is survived by one son McAlister Gage Smith of Sturgeon Bay, WI. Two brothers Joshua Smith and Lauren of Athens, AL, Brian and wife Christy Sink-Smith of Louisville, KY. His father Tony Smith of Madison, AL and his mother Jo Lynn McAlister Eddy of Athens, AL. His grandparents Sadie and Kenneth Croley, & grandmother Sandy Smith

Funeral Services to be held November 27, 2012, at 2:00pm, location McConnell Memorial Chapel with pastor Joel Carwile, music by Dwayne Moore and Jerome Key.

A quote from Joel on November 9 per his Facebook account. "Very blessed day! I always have a blessed day because I know that Jesus is in my heart and I know where I will be when I die! God is in control of it all. Live everyday as if it may be your last. No matter what God's love is an unconditional love! Yes you have a free will to choose, but life is way better when you pray about everything! God will always guide the right way! I hope to see you all in heaven one day! If you have never tried it give a chance and if you are like me you have tried everything else. True joy comes from The Lord! Give it a shot!!! What will it hurt?"
