He was born on February 4, 1933 to Cowen Turner and Zora Stovall Turner.
He loved his family.
He liked to fish, bowl, golf and he loved to coach children.
After graduating Florence State Teacher’s College, he served two years in the army at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA. He was a math teacher and coach at Elkmont High School and later went to work as a Budget Analyst at the Redstone Arsenal for 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Leon, Leroy, Howard and Walter Turner and two sisters Mary Norton and Juanita Pressnell.
He is survived by his wife Janice of Athens, son Keith Turner (Cathy) of Humboldt, TN, daughter Karen Gilbert (John) of Huntsville, AL and granddaughter Alisa Seeley (Michael) of Denver, CO.
Pallbearers will be John Gilbert, Bryan Turner, Jim Norton, Daryl Turner, Don Turner, and Larry Turner.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at McConnell Funeral Home from 1:30-2:45 PM with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM in Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. David Cox officiating.
