Mr. Stinnett proudly served in the United States Army, during which time he was stationed in Germany. He later went on to be one of the founders of East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the first fire chief. He also worked and retired from The Chrysler Corporation. He was a beloved daddy, granddad, and GiGi.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years Gladys Norwood Stinnett, and one brother Forrest Stinnett Jr.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Ann Stinnett; son Chuck Stinnett (Jane) of Harvest; daughter Shawn Schrimsher (Paul) of Harvest; grandchildren Jeremy Stinnett, Jana Kimery (Joe), Jake Schrimsher, and Austin Schrimsher; and two great-grandchildren Clint and Chyanne Kimery.
Visitation will be Wednesday January 12th at McConnell Funeral Home from 10-11AM, with a chapel service to begin at 11AM with Brother Eric Mattox officiating. Pallbearers will be Chuck Stinnett, Jeremy Stinnett, Jake Schrimsher, Joe Kimery, Johnny Barksdale and Jerry Cox. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Schrimsher and Clint Kimery. Burial will follow at Athens City Cemetery.
