Lila Miller

Lila Dale Miller, age 72, of Truax, SK, passed away peacefully at the Bengough Health Centre on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Jennifer Duke Mahner and son-in-law, Gord Anthony Mahner.

Mom had a good life. She loved her horses and actually every animal she ever had. Mom and I had lots of good times doing whatever it was together. Mom had a knack to training horses, catching fish, raising chickens and loved going on road trips with us. She had a really funny sense of humour but sometimes – watch out – you never know what! But she always had a comeback. She loved housekeeping. Mom lived near Dummer on a farm, then moved in to the Town of Dummer. Mom met Welly Duke and then she moved out to the farm she still resided in, south of Truax. Mom was predeceased by her partner, Welly Duke, parents, William and Clair, two sisters, Betty and Diane and two brothers, Donnie and Ronnie.

Mom is now resting peacefully with God. She will be truly missed. Thank you to the Bengough Health Centre for looking after her so well.

Memorial service for Lila was held Friday, August 18th, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Avonlea Community Hall Lobby with Neil Alexander presiding. Interment will be held at a later date at the Truax Cemetery.
