I worked with Ken while he was employed by the Government of Saskatchewan at Core Services and the Government of Canada at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada-Alberta Region.  Our lives were connected in one way or another for over 40 years.

Firstly Ken was a great person,  articulate, compassionate, funny,  interesting, and a Rider fan.  At one time, Ken was my supervisor, but I called him my friend because he was fair and loyal, and knowledgeable about many issues. 

I can remember many times having discussions with him that encompass a hundred issue.  He never failed to amaze me with encyclopedic mind, as he could discuss any subject with me, and I was amazed I always learned something after the discussion.

Rest in peace Ken.  I often remember an issue or a discussion and I immediately think of you.  You will never be forgotten.

To his family, I extend my deepest sympathies.  Keep cheering on the Riders Ken, the team always needs your support.

My  sincere sympathy on the loss of Ken.  
I fondly remember Ken's Dad,  Uncle Charlie and the family when I visited Rockglen back in the 1970's,  and can say that the entire Kirby clan are the "nicest kind of folk".   
May you all be comforted by the memories you shared.

Dear Grace and Family,
My sincere condolences to you and your family at this time of sorrow.  I was my pleasure and honour to be your next door neighbour in Excalibur Estates for 20+ years.  I was always grateful for your diligence in looking out after my home during vacations and other absences.  You were the best neighbours that anyone could ever ask for.  Rest in peace Ken.

So sorry to hear of Ken's passing.  I first met Ken as an 18-year old rookie in Craik, Saskatchewan where I embarked on my first teaching assignment at the Craik High School.  Although Ken was only 4 years my senior he often had words of wisdom that I took to heart and cherish to this very day.  Ken often led by example and when I found my rookie self floundering in situations beyond my control I would pause and reflect on what I had seen Ken do in similar situations and remedy the cause.  Ken and I taught together for only two years (1966-67, 1967-68) but I often enjoyed listening to him share stories in the staff room and also at social gatherings.  I am sharing a photo of our staff from those years where Ken is second from the right in the back row and I was the staff baby standing two to his right in the same row.  Those were days that are truly missed and will be forever with me.   

Bev and I extend our sincere sympathy to the Kirby family.  Ken was a member of the board of the Robin Hood Association for many years and he also served 2 years as president.  He was very capable and served with distinction.  Ken made a major contribution in reviewing and developing policies and procedures.  We enjoyed many games of golf and he was a very fine storyteller.  He will be missed.
