It's been a year since Dad's been gone, but living far away, it is easy for me to believe he is still there.

In June 2020 we sent a card and the letter below to Dad for a Happy Father's Day.

    We could not have chosen a better Dad.
     You have always been our Hero!   "My Dad can do anything, my Dad knows everything and everybody"!
     You built us a house and made it a Home, where you sheltered us, teased us, surprised us, loved us and shared all you had.  Our Home - where we fondly go to yet - a Gift of the greatest kind.
     You taught us by quiet example and guided us with quiet strength - how to be Honest, hard working and independent with integrity.  You showed us how to care for others through your kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness; no one left behind!
     From a tuxedo to cover-alls - You wear them well.  From a Prince to a pauper - you are at ease with them all.
     We love you, miss you and send you our dearest wishes for a wonderful Father's Day.

Oh, I forgot to add, a string memory of Harold, was him reciting from memory a long poem around the campfire one evening in the ‘80s.  I can’t remember the name of it right now, but it was a somber tale , and I admired his ability to memorize 

That was beautifully written!  Harold was an easy man to have around, and your family was blessed to have him all the years he was with you.  I appreciate having known him (and Patricia) a little, as extended family to me, through my sister in law, Joanne.   Blessings to you all, as you learn to live without him  at his beloved home in Coronack.

     Harold was just a lovely ,funny intelligent person. He and Pat were a huge part of my teenage life while I was going to high school in the late 50’s . They remained treasured friends in all the years since.

My wife (Joanne) and I moved to Coronach in 2012. I met Harold on coffee row at Deb's and he became a very great friend of ours. We loved his stories and history of the area. We will truly miss our friend.

My Mom came from Holland and the first couple she met in Coronach was Mr.  Harold and & Mrs. Pat Siggelkow. Dad worked for Mr. Siggelkow in the RM office. They were very good friends and that friendship went onto the next generation. My brother, Pieter, Edwin & I spent a lot of time together. Edwin was always welcome at our farm and we were always treated like family at the Sigelkow home. I have many memories (old and recent) of a great man and a true friend that always made you feel like family. Cherryl & I offer our sincere condolence to the family of an unforgettable man. God be with you Edwin, Maxine, Joanne, Tom, Harry and your families in this loss of your Dad.

Sorry to see Harold's passing. I took a university class with Pat .She and her daughter were at our house for a project that we were working on. Gladys, Susan and I were asked for thanksgiving dinner about 1971, as I remember and had a great day at the home out of town. We heard  many stories of Harold and Pat's trips with their horses and carriage. Harold's service with the Mason's and in the community  will make his remembered by many. My sincere condolences.

My uncle Harold….
    My memories span from when I was 5 years old to a month ago.

Uncle Harold was truly one of a kind.  He was many things to many people.
Uncle Harold wasn’t a man you could some up with a few adjectives.

 When I think of him I think of his smile, his soft but powerful presence, his wisdom, his caring for others, his wonderful sense of humour and his laugh.

 Without expecting anything in return he was always quick to share his kindness.   He was always looking out for my mom and I deeply appreciated that.

 At my mother’s funeral I joked with Uncle Harold…saying you are the last of our clan.    He just smiled and shook his head. Classic Uncle Harold.

  Farewell Uncle Harold….you will be missed.

Harold was a dear neighbour, and lifelong friend.  The kids and I loved spending time with Harold, we played many games of knock your neighbour, crib and sequence.  We learned a lot of history and many story and adventures that Harold had during his life. There are so many great memories with Harold and the horses.  It was a joy to see his face when he was around the horses.  He taught me how to repair the barn so it wouldn't fall down, which helped me save my brothers garage!  Harold holds a special place in our families hearts.  I especially appreciated the calls and talks with Harold on the phone after we moved away.  Our condolences to the Siggelkow families. What a gift your father was to everyone he met!!

Harold was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.  He holds a special place in my heart and my family's hearts.  He had such a gentle way about him and always made me smile. For over 50 years Harold showed us what a true and faithful Freemason is. His commitment to his family, his community and to himself has indelibly imprinted him on our hearts. Rest in Peace Brother,  You are sorely missed. God's will has been done. So Mote It Be. 

Harold was always grinning and teasing me every time I went to see the ponies. At the Fair he would always boost me on top of one of the Morgans. He would stop by and have coffee at our place and we would get to taste Harold and Pat’s fantastic cooking when we went there. He will be so missed by the community and fondly remembered as a wise, kind person with a great sense of humour. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

 I remember a family Christmas 40+ years ago, the  driveway to Mom and Dads farm was blocked. Harold showed up with grader Christmas morning and cleared the driveway, I think Harold understood the meaning of life, believing he should help others when he could, A Life Well Lived.

I remember family dinners at our house in Scobey, Montana and at Harold's house in Coronach, Sask.  There was a lot of back and forth between us.  Harold had a disease for a while that prohibited him from eating salt.  Pat did an exellent job making the food taste good without salt.  
 Then there were the ponies.  Harold traveled all over the land to show them.  
I understand that he was also involved in local politics. 
He was a good man.  His family has a right to be proud of him.

Our sympathy to the Siggelkow  families.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  RIP Harold 

I just have memories of one of his grandchildren, Cherie Sigglekow, and her husband,Paul Q, from when we all lived and worked in Kenya. Since then I've seen their children's growth and their love of family thrive. And what better life can anyone lead?

The light in the eyes of the grandfather will continue to shine in the hearts and minds of his family.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Siggelkow while growing up in Coronach and being friends with Edwin. He was a very kind man , and as I learned much later, an excellent furniture craftsman. I extend my sympathies to the family 

We have lost an awesome father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather & friend.          He will be dearly missed, but Harold will always hold a special place in our hearts.   RIP

When we, (Rod and I) were facing financial difficulties, Harold and Pat gave us the use of the farm house just outside of town for minimal rent.  Harold also provided me with some work so we weren't just  getting handouts.  A wonderful, caring man and I'm very glad I knew him.


Will never forget the family suppers we had every week when I was little! He made the best mashed potatoes and pancakes! We miss you already Harold ❤️

Sympathies to all the Siggelkow family on the passing of Harold.  He will be missed by all as he was truly dedicated to the Coronach community.  My association with him goes back over 50 years in the  Municipal, Masonic and Shriners  0rganizations.  Rest in peace Brother Harold

My sincere sympathy to ALL the Siggelkow families. Harold was our neighbor the day I was born. My memories of him could be a long story but I will just say that he was our "Book of Knowledge" and "History Book" for the community of Coronach! We will all miss him.

Harold always had a friendly smile, and was always eager for a chat. He will be missed in our community.
