It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Danny Milo Hicks, who left this world on January 25, 2024, at the age of 46. Born in Coronach, Saskatchewan, on June 26, 1977, to Doug and Deloris Hicks, Danny was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.
Danny's journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic. He went to Coronach School and from there, he embarked on a fulfilling career. He began working at C&R Plumbing and later found his stride at Marv's Tire, where he became a cornerstone of the team. Danny's commitment to his work was evident, as he rarely missed a day, earning the respect and admiration of his Uncle Marv and Dallas.
Danny had a passion for golf that brought him Joy and fulfillment. He cherished the time spent on the course, participating in events such as the Father's Day Tournament with his mother and engaging in Par 3 tournaments alongside his nephews Jessie, Dillon, and Cole. His regular attendance at Men's night showcased his love for the game. His partner in crime, niece Yana was also close by keeping him inline trying to guide him in the right direction.
During the winter months, Danny could be found out on the ice, engaging in the timeless tradition of ice fishing with his brother-in-law Mike. It was a cherished activity that not only deepened their bond but also created lasting memories against the backdrop of frozen landscapes.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere at Marv's Tire was another significant part of Danny's life. He spent countless hours BSing with all the customers that came through the door.
Danny's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he find eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth that he shared with those fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
Danny is survived by his mother, Deloris Hicks, siblings: Debra (Martin), Dawn (Michael), Dennis (Tammy), Deidre (Chris), numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his father Douglas Hicks, Grandparents John & Olivia Dosch and Orville & Hazel Hicks and his longtime friend Blaine Andrews.
We will sure miss you Dano, rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Coronach Community Hall on Saturday February 3, 2023 at 2:00pm with Kelly Elder as facilitator. Tribute was presented by Dallas Elder, a poem was read by nephew, Alex Hicks and Scripture reading by niece, Brittany. Interment in Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Danny’s nieces and nephews, Dustin (Karlee), Stryker, Brixton; Darren (Krista), Riley, Jada; Kimberly (Noah), Sawyer, Lux; Carly (Nic), Lily; Jessie (Yana), Blade, Steel; Dillon (Ashley), Bella, Colter, Emmett; Cole (Brittney); Alex (Callie); Hunter(Mason); and Kaisyn. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Coronach Golf Course in Danny's honor.
