Jane Elizabeth Chenault, age 85 passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was the loving wife of her first late husband Thomas Chenault and her second late husband James Chenault. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Petty (Scott), Roy Chenault (Virginia) and step-daughters, Suzie, Christina, Regina (Jason) and her chihuahua, Rocko "lil-man"; cherished grandchildren Patricia, Tom, Karrie, Emily, Devin, Allison and step-grandchildren, Faith, Samantha, Brian, Michael, Coty, Justin, Bethany, Jordan, Jasmyne, Jason, Jacob, and 22 great-grandchildren She was also survived by her siblings Clara, Aubrey, Gayle, Ernie, Walter, and Joegayle, special niece Tammy Seay, special bonus granddaughter Tanya Gruentzel and her and two daughters Bailey and August. Jane is preceded in death by her husbands, parents, Roy and Marshie Seay, five brothers, and 5 sisters.
Jane enjoyed cooking and making her famous fried chicken, cleaning, gardening, especially plants and flowers, and yard work. She loved camping, the beach, sunbathing (iodine + baby oil), cooking out, entertaining her family and friends, and decorating for the holidays (especially Christmas). She fostered and cared for hundreds of children for over 60 years and was the caregiver for several family members in their final years. She had a giving heart and was always willing to help those in need. She was a longtime member of Ashland Church of God.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jane's visitation on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM at Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle St, Ashland, VA 23005. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 11310 Hanover Ave, Ashland, VA 23005.
