Gary "JR" Wayne Emrich Jr.

Gary "JR" W. Emrich, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2023 in South Carolina. JR was born on February 19, 1993, and raised in Virginia. JR attended and graduated from Lee Davis High school in Mechanicsville, VA in 2011. He loved working at his grandparents shop (Stanley's Car and truck repair) as he learned to work on cars. He loved attending events at the Ashland Moose lodge for many years with his family especially during the holidays. He was a huge fan of basketball where he loved to play in the street with friends. But what JR loved most was becoming a daddy to his beloved daughter Lilah. He was always full of fun and excitement and always had a smile that would light up the room. He was also that person clowning around cracking jokes just being the center of attention. But in light of his happy side JR struggled with depression and addiction most of his adult life. Even when trying to help others he put his needs second. Now he has gone to be with our Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by His Great Grandparents, Lambert and Lorine Harding; Great Grandparents, George and Elizabeth Stanley; Great Grandmother, Sarah Katherine Hunt; and His Aunt, Katie Stanley. He is survived by his daughter, Lilah Anne Emrich; his father, Gary Emrich, Sr (Tricia); his mother, Tracy Stanley Allen (Dennis); Grandparents, Sonny and Janet Stanley; Grandmother, Zeddie Emrich; Grandfather, Wray Emrich (Patricia); Grandparents, Helen and McWayne Williams; Grandparents, Gordon and Betty Allen; Uncles, Jeff Stanley (Amy), David Stanley (Stephanie), James Emrich (Sue); Aunts, Laura Emrich Pitts, Tina Darby (Drew); 3 siblings, brother, Dylan Allen, Christopher Fagan and sister, Emma Emrich Witty; along with 3 nephews and 1 niece and numerous cousins and extended family. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 where a funeral service will begin at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Calvary Christian Church Cemetery, 14196 Ashland Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
