Gary Maxheimer of Ashland, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina. He was 81 years old. He was born April 13, 1943, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Howard and Lois Maxheimer.
He graduated from Ashland High School in 1961 and Ashland University in 1965. Gary proudly served in the US Army from 1965-1967, including 13 months in South Korea. He had worked for Blue Cross of Central Ohio and was a 30-year employee of The Ohio State University Hospitals, in their financial department.
After residing in Columbus for over 50 years, he returned to Ashland in 2020, where he loved being back home in Ashland with his family.
Gary is survived by two sisters, Donna (Lon) Atchison and Karen Laughery; and nieces and nephews, Gail (Ron) Smith, Troy Atchison, Lynn (Brian) Finley, Jenny Knickerbocker, Jay (Lori) Laughery and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ron Laughery.
Per Gary’s wishes, there will be no service.
