Donna June Landis, 86, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024. She was born July 31, 1938 in Crawford Corners, Ohio to the late Allen Henry Weltmer and Catherine Adelia (Vaughn) Weltmer. Donna was a 1956 graduate of Polk High School and was baptized at Polk Christian Church. She married Merle Landis July 21, 1962. They were married for 38 years when Merle died on May 3, 2001. She worked for Lyn-Way for 48 years and Companions of Ashland for 10 years. Donna bowled for over 50 years; was a member of Ashland Emblem Club #61 and Ashland Senior Center, where she volunteered her time. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Senior Citizen’s Award in August of 2012. In addition to volunteering her time, Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Donna loved her fur-grand pets and great-grand pets and gave the best scratches.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kim Stover; granddaughter, Stacy (Josh) Obert; great-grandson, Noah Obert; her brother, James Weltmer; many nieces and nephews; and several special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Rose Funk; and many beloved in-laws.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Andy Grimes. Donna will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to The Hospice Foundation.
