Jacob Charles Wade

Jacob "Jake" Charles Wade, 26, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 19th, in his home in Denver, Colorado. Jake was born July 10, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah to his loving parents David H. Wade and Cathy M. Imo. Jake graduated from Summit High School in Jackson, Wyoming in 2010 and was attending Red Rocks Community College in Denver at the time of his passing. Jake spent his first two years living at Goldminer's Daughter Lodge in Alta, Utah then moved with his parents to Driggs, Idaho where his passion for the outdoors, especially skiing, quickly developed. He participated in the Grand Targee ski club, baseball and the boy scouts. Jake also loved music and art and long boarding. At age 10 he moved to Wilson, Wyoming and joined the Jackson Hole Ski Club, competing in ski racing and free riding competitions. Jake won Free Skier Combined 2nd place at the USSA Nationals at age 14 and then went on to compete in Big Mountain competitions after his neck injury. He hiked many long trails and summited many mountains with his parents including the South and Middle Tetons, Teewinot, Mt Bora to name a few; the Grand Teton many times with his father and friends. In his twenties Jake moved to Denver, Colorado and became a power lifter, deadlifting and squatting 500lbs. Jake influenced many with his humility, enigmatic smile, strength, and a quiet presence. Jake was loyal and compassionate often putting others before himself. He was a passionate, intellectual, gentle man. Although his life here was short, those who were touched by him understand that the quality of one's presence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Jake will be deeply missed by his parents Cathy M. Imo (husband Duffy McCabe) of Kamas, Utah and David H. Wade (fiancée Marne Gunderson) of Wilson, Wyoming. Jake is survived by his long time and loving girlfriend Andrea Do of Arvada, Colorado; his aunt Charlene Imo Brouillet (Dan) of St. Louis, Mo and cousins Candace Jackson and Timmy (Dinka) Jennings and nephews and nieces; uncle Jim Imo (Robin) of St. Louis, Mo, cousin Melissa Imo Moffitt (Doyle) and nieces and nephews; cousin Andrea Imo Barbata (Tony) and niece and nephew; Becky Imo Hendrix (Tim) and niece; cousin Anna Imo Coats (Brian) and nieces; cousin James Imo (Cassi); cousin Mike Imo; uncle Ed Imo (Valerie) of St. Louis, Mo; uncle Matt Imo (Marie) of St. Louis, Mo. and cousins Matt Jr, Ally and Christina; aunt Cheryl Imo Gardner (Mike) of Chicago, IL and cousins Brooke and Lexi; and uncle Steve Imo (Tracy) of St. Louis, Mo. and nephews. Jake also leaves his grandparents Gail (Wade) Hillis and James Hillis of Hoosick, New York; and David Hardy Wade of Salem, New York; Great Aunt Penelope Wade Milam (Robert) of San Diego, CA and aunt Cathy and Debbie; Great Uncle Robert Wade (Jean) of Moncure, NC and their children Cory and Joy; aunt Mary Wade Nowack (Harry) and cousins Hannah Wade Geyik (Cem) and son Hasan; cousins Erin Wade and Jordan Levandosky; uncle Jonathan Wade of Tuscan, AZ and cousins Zachary, Ian, Bodi Wade; aunt Jennifer Wade Dennis (Patrick) and cousin Theodore Dennis. He was predeceased by his grandparents Charles and Evelyn Imo of St Louis, Missouri; great grandparents, great uncles and aunts. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jacob's name to the Van Vleck House of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; the Choice House of Louisville, Colorado. A Celebration of Life will be held in Jackson Hole, Wy in December. More information to follow.
