Charles Wendell Larson

Chuck, a longtime Longmont, Colorado area resident was born October 23rd, 1934 in Sullivan, Indiana. He migrated to the Fargo, North Dakota area where he pursued his career as a meat cutter. There he met his loving wife Dorothy who preceded his death in April of 2014. Together, they relocated to Colorado and eventually settled on a small farm outside of Longmont. There while honing his skills as a meat cutter he raised, with incredible values, his four children: Cindi, Teryl, Todd and Kim. He also raised and traded horses, pigs, rabbits and dogs.

An all-around “Jack of all Trades” and master of many, Chuck (also schooled in the HVAC industry) was an avid “do it yourselfer” well before DIY was even a buzz phrase. He handed down these values daily to everyone that was associated with him. He constructed his own mobile Pig Roasters and roasted meats for numerous events all over the Rocky Mountain region.

Once retired, Chuck and Dorothy traveled extensively in their many different RV’s and were members of numerous RV adventure travel clubs. Also, as avid “Square Dancers” they gathered, along with the experiences, many lifelong friendships. They eventually became “Winter Texans” and established a winter basecamp in Donna, Texas where these friendships were renewed every year. Together again, Chuck and Dorothy are surely traveling in their RV in the sky.

Chuck will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Chuck is survived by his Children, loving daughter Cindi Kelly (Bob) Longmont, CO, daughter Teryl Shepit (Jeff) Loveland, CO, son Todd Larson (Tammy) Ogallala, NE, daughter Kim Cotter Rock Springs, WY. Grandchildren, Sonja Sorden (Adam), Brandon Stafford (Nicole), Crystal Cordova (Brandon), Jessica Roundy (Chad), Jennifer Cotter and Brandon Kelly (Becky) along with 7 Great Grandchildren.

Due to the current National Health Pandemic, a Celebration of Chuck’s Life for close family and friends will be scheduled for later in the summer. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family through the Guest Book below.
