Brooklyn Sierra Clasby

Brooklyn is survived by her parents, Brandon and Jennica; her sister, Mackenzie (Jacob); her brother, Jaxon; her grandparents, Tom and Margaret Thornburg, and Shane and Ava Clasby; her great-grandmothers, Marian Thornburg and Ligia Clasby; her aunts and uncles, Justin (Yvonne) Thornburg, Zachariah (Marie) Clasby, and Megan (Ethan) Freedman; her cousins, Trysten, Shelby, Monique, DJ, Amelia, Paul, and Oscar; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandparents on both her maternal and paternal sides of the family.

Brooklyn was born in Pueblo, Colorado, on October 29, 2006. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension at the age of 3. In 2012, the family moved to Arlington, Washington, to improve Brooklyn’s health by living at sea level. Despite these challenges, she defied expectations and inspired those around her with her tenacious spirit and bravery. As she prepared to enter her senior year at Arlington High School, Brooklyn was enrolled to attend Sno-Isle for cosmetology, pursuing her dream of becoming an esthetician.

Brooklyn lived each day to the fullest. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dog, Gunnar, and her snake, Jake. Fearless in trying new things, she participated in multiple sports and activities, putting her best effort in everything she did. Brooklyn loved being a part of the wrestling community, serving as the manager of the boys' wrestling team since the 6th grade. Although she dreamed of being a wrestler herself, managing the team allowed her to stay connected to the sport she loved.

In March 2023, Brooklyn received a life-saving lung transplant and began to dream bigger than ever before. She aspired to travel the world, explore all the National Parks, build a family, and pursue a career. Above all, she hoped to create a lifetime of joyful memories with her loved ones. She was called home early due to complications associated with the transplant, marking the end of her brave journey.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm on August 3, 2024, in Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. Reception to immediately follow.
