Ann McGillicuddy Field, 90, of Arlington, Wash. passed away on May 5, 2016. Ann was born on October 22, 1925 in Aberdeen WA to Blaine H. McGillicuddy and Myra Josephine (Heacock) McGillicuddy. Raised in Bordeaux, Ann went on to earn a degree in Psychology at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. She was employed as a Teacher's Aide in the Arlington Elementary Schools for 22 years before retiring in 1989. Ann married Dean W. Field in 1948 in Eugene Oregon. Ann is remembered for her homemade pies, cookies and a hot breakfast every morning before school. Ann's home was full of laughter and family meals with everyone around the table. A home free of gossip. Ann was a campfire and cub scout leader for her children. Camano Island cabin feasts of cracked crab, steamed clams, strawberry shortcake and corn on the cob were much enjoyed. She loved to read, the Oregon Ducks, Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners. She played many roles in her life. She was big sister to Helen and Blaine. She was wife to Dean. She was Auntie Ann to nieces and nephews; Mom to Blaine, Colleen and Ellen; Grannie Annie to Isaac, Ben, Garrett, Rachel, Jordyn, Linsey, Brett, Taryn and Andy; Great Grannie Annie to Davis, Adalyn, Alexa, Rory, Drake, Mila, Ashtyn, Esme' and Hazel. She was a member of P.E.O., Delta Gamma, and Arlington United Church. She was the Director of Camp Daca, Church Treasurer, Women's Camp, and Bible Study. She was a friend, confident and secret keeper for her friends and her children's friends…you know who you are. Ann is survived by her son, Blaine (Julie) Field, her daughters, Colleen (Fred) Wedam and Ellen (Gary) Smith; brothers, Blaine H. (Bev) McGillicuddy and brother-in-law, Allen Merewether. Ann is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Helen and her granddaughter, Rachel. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Arlington United Church. Memorials made be made a favorite charity in Ann's honor.
