SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover of the United States Marine Corps, 31, of Utah, was killed in action in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. He was born July 24,1990 in Memphis, TN to parents Kelly Barnett and Darin Hoover.
Taylor joined the Marine Corps on September 13, 2010, and graduated from MCRD San Diego Boot Camp December 10, 2010. Throughout the course of his military career, Taylor was deployed overseas 5 times. Taylor was presented with many awards and honors over his tenure, had many duty stations, and attended each with the upmost honor and respect. Taylor’s drive and passion for the Marine Corps stemmed from his embedded family roots and desire to train his men to be the best that they could be.

Taylor was met at heavens gates by his Grandmother Janie Barnett.
Taylor is survived by Kelly Barnett (Mother), (Two Sisters) Tori Manning (Husband, Thomas) and Allyson Summers (Husband, Dylan), (Fiancé) Nicole Weiss, (Father) Darin Hoover, and (Two Nieces) RaeLynn and Isabella. Taylor is also survived by his Papaw Bill Barnett, his Grandpa Stan Hoover, and Grandma Dalene Hoover, uncles and aunts, and many cousins- all who loved him dearly.
Taylor will always be remembered for his striking blue eyes, contagious laugh, and smile that lit up any room.
Taylor, we will miss you dearly and will never forget the sacrifice you made for us to be free. “We love you the mostest.”
A visitation for Taylor will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murphy of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203. A funeral service will occur on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 9:00 AM at National Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Arlington National Cemetery at 11:00 AM
