Minnie Evelyn Simmons

On Monday, April 12, 2021, Minnie Evelyn Simmons, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 93. Raised in Everett and Uniontown, PA, Minnie went to work for The U.S. State Department and traveled the world. After 25 years of faithful service, she retired and devoted herself to many charitable activities in her neighborhood and church. Minnie was a long-time and faithful member of the Arlington Church of the Brethren, Arlington, VA. She served in several positions including Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Soup and Pie Volunteer, and member of the Church Board of Directors. She was an avid supporter of Heifer International and a true animal lover with a special love of dogs. Minnie was admired for her progressive mind, willingness to help, thinking outside the box, quick wit, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. Her legacy lives on in all whom she dearly touched. Minnie was predeceased by her sister Myra and her parents Charles and Hattie. A graveside service will take place on May 1, 2021 at 11:00am at Everett Cemetery in Everett, PA. A Memorial service will be held at her church at a future date
