Lawrence Hudson Russell (Larry), 79, who worked for RCA in Camden, NJ and Hazeltine Corporation in Greenlawn, NY died October 16 in Arlington, VA. He had Alzheimer's disease.
Larry was born in Fairfield, Alabama to parents Hudson and Marguerite Russell. He attended Auburn University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Management in 1953 and upon graduation moved to southern New Jersey to work for RCA. It was here that he met Phyllis, his wife of 51 years. In 1972, he moved with his family to Greenlawn, New York on Long Island where he worked for Hazeltine Corporation until his retirement in 1996. Soon after retiring, he and Phyllis moved back to South Jersey, settling in Marlton for 10 years.
Larry received a Masters in Business Administration from Adelphi University. He was an active contributor to the community over the years as a Little League Baseball manager, Boy Scout leader and regular church lector. Larry had a love for fishing throughout his life - with his parents, his children, and later his grandchildren. He was also an avid golfer, a devoted father and devout Catholic - and also a Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Aldous Russell of Arlington, three children, John Russell of Shoreview, Minnesota (Sara Russell), Thomas Russell of Arlington (Janet Russell), and Therese Russell Kent of Arlington (Andrew Kent), his twelve grandchildren, and his sister, Marilyn Russell Koeper of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
